FOOL EXPRESSIONS (APRIL FOOL'S DAY)

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin

Today is April 1st, which is known in some countries as April Fool's Day. Our theme for this week will be Fool Expressions, and we begin with APRIL FOOL'S

Definition: An expression people say after they play a joke on someone on April 1st. 

Example 1: Your Mom called and she said someone took your bicycle. April fool's!

Example 2: The meeting is cancelled. April fool's!

This expression can be written two ways:
April fools'
April fool's

DRIVING VOCABULARY (U-EY)

LISTEN TO THE DAILY VITAMIN HERE:

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope that you've enjoyed our week of lessons about Driving Vocabulary.

We are completing this theme with the slang word U-EY.

Definition: U-ey is slang for the word "U-turn." A U-turn is when a vehicle makes a 180-degree turn, in a U-shaped course, to face in the opposite direction.

Example 1: Oops, I missed our turn. I'll have to make a u-ey

Example 2: Can you make a u-ey here? I don’t see any signs that say it's illegal.

DRIVING VOCABULARY (TO TAILGATE)

LISTEN TO THE DAILY VITAMIN HERE:

Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Daily Vitamin!

Today we continue with our vocabulary related to Driving.

Today's term is a verb: TO TAILGATE

Definition: To drive dangerously close to the car in front of you.

Example 1: This guy has been tailgating me for 5 minutes. 

Example 2: I don't like driving with my brother because he always tailgates

Do you tailgate when you drive? I hope not... it's dangerous!

DRIVING VOCABULARY (RIGHT OF WAY)

LISTEN TO THE DAILY VITAMIN HERE:

Welcome back and happy Wednesday, everyone! Today we continue with our Driving Vocabulary.

Today's phrase is: RIGHT OF WAY

Definition: The car or person that should proceed first; the person or car that other people or cars yield to. 

Example 1: In a crosswalk, pedestrians always have the right of way. Cars must always stop. 

Example 2: If two cars approach an intersection at the same time, the car on the right goes first because it has the right of way.

DRIVING VOCABULARY (FENDER BENDER)

LISTEN TO THE DAILY VITAMIN HERE:

Welcome back, everyone!

Are you ready to continue with our lessons about Vocabulary related to Driving?

Today we are learning the term FENDER BENDER.

Definition: A minor car accident. (A fender is the piece that goes around the front and the back of the car; it’s typically what is damaged when a car hits another car from behind.)

Example 1: His mom was in an accident. It was nothing serious, thankfully: just a fender bender

Example 2: There was a lot of traffic today because of an accident. It was only a fender bender, but it caused a lot of delays. 

Example 3: I was late for work because I got in a fender bender
