PHRASAL VERB FRIDAY: 'TO DRAG ON': meaning and examples

Hello everyone! Are you ready for the last post of the week?

For Phrasal Verb Friday, we are looking at the verb TO DRAG ON

Definition
: to continue for longer than is necessary. 

Example 1: The professor's lecture dragged on forever today. 

Example 2: I think I dragged my answer on longer than I should have. 

Example 3: Our speech should be short. We don't want it to drag on

This phrasal verb can be TRANSITIVE (example 2) or INTRANSITIVE (examples 1 and 3) and is OPTIONALLY SEPARABLE (example 2 could be "dragged on my answer...").
