IDIOMS WITH 'WIN' (WIN SOME, LOSE SOME)

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Daily Vitamin!

Are you watching the 2018 Winter Olympics? To celebrate this event, we are looking at Idioms with the word "Win." We begin with the expression YOU WIN SOME, (AND) YOU LOSE SOME

Definition: A colloquial expression meaning "It's not possible to win all the time."

Example 1: I didn't make the sale that I had been working on all week. But you win some, you lose some

Example 2: I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get the job. You win some and you lose some

Example 3: Last year we were basketball champions, but this year we finished in last place. You win some, you lose some!
