Welcome to our last lesson of the 2017-2018 academic year, everyone! I hope you enjoyed this year's Daily Vitamin lessons.

For our last lesson, we are looking at the expression TO MUDDY THE WATERS

Definition: to introduce an idea that will make a situation more complicated or confusing.

Example 1: During the meeting, I didn't say anything about my issue with our short lunch breaks. I didn't want to muddy the waters

Example 2: This complicated new handbook just muddies the waters about several policies, like when we can or cannot take holidays.

Example 3: Our building has strict policies about what we can put on our balconies. They wrote a list of accepted balcony decorations to try and make things clear, but it just muddied the waters about what we can and can't use.

We will resume the Daily Vitamin lessons in the second half of September. Until then, have a wonderful summer!

In the name of everyone who collaborates at Ziggurat Corporate Language School, I would like to thank you for your readership and your participation. We are so thankful to have you all as a part of our English-learning community.

Take care and be well!
