COMPOUND ADJECTIVES (WELL-KNOWN)

Welcome back and happy Friday, everyone!

Today is our last lesson of the week, and we are completing our Compound Adjectives theme

Today's two-word adjective is: WELL-KNOWN

Definition: An adjective to describe someone or something that is popular or commonly known. 

Example 1: My brother is a well-known writer. Sometimes people recognize him when we go out together. 

Example 2: My city is home to a well-known artist. Sometimes I see him painting in our town square. 

Example 3: Atkins is a well-known diet where you do not eat carbohydrates. I tried it once, but I love bread too much to give it up.

COMPOUND ADJECTIVES (PART-TIME)

Happy Thursday, everyone! Are you ready for our next lesson about Compound Adjectives?

Today's two-word adjective is: PART-TIME

Definition: An adjective to describe something that occurs for only part of the workday or workweek. 

Example 1: Is your job part-time?

Example 2: I started working part-time this fall. It's nice to have more time to spend with my children. 

Example 3: I am looking for a part-time job. 

You might also see the phrase full-time to describe the opposite work situation.

Definition: An adjective to describe someone who is attractive.

Welcome back, readers! Happy Tuesday to you all.

We are continuing with our week about Compound Adjectives. Remember, these are a combination of two adjectives. We often use a hyphen between the two words to combine them into one phrase.

Today's two-word adjective is: BAD-TEMPERED

Definition: An adjective to describe someone who gets angry easily. 

Example 1: I worked for a very bad-tempered boss. It was a terrible work environment. 

Example 2: My grandfather was bad-tempered. I remember him yelling once at Christmas. I'm so glad my father isn't like that!

Are you bad-tempered? I hope not!

This week we are going to look at Compound Adjectives. These are a combination of two adjectives. We often use a hyphen between the two words to combine them into one phrase. 

Today's two-word adjective is: ALL-INCLUSIVE

Definition: An adjective that means including everything and everyone. 

Example 1: We stayed at an ALL-INCLUSIVE resort in the Bahamas. 

Example 2: It was an ALL-INCLUSIVE party. Everyone from the office was invited.
