APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS: meaning and examples

Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin, everyone. I hope your week has started off well.

As you may know, this week we are presenting different expressions and phrases related to spring. 

Today's 1st spring phrase is: April showers bring May flowers

Meaning/Use: This is a saying that emphasizes how rainy weather, in the spring, can lead to beautiful flower blooms later on.

Example 1:
Jack: Wow... those flowers look beautiful.
Janet: Well... April showers bring May flowers.
Jack: Yes, Janet, but it's still March! smiley

Today's 2nd spring phrase is: Spring is just around the corner

Meaning/Use: we use this "hopeful expression" to suggest that spring is coming soon.

Example 2
Beatriz: I'm getting so tired of this cold, rainy weather
Mark: Don't worry Bea, spring is just round the corner.
