"ARROBA" IN ENGLISH
ARROBA IN ENGLISH: meaning and examples
Good morning everyone.
Recently we received the following question from one of our Daily Vitamin subscribers, Manuel Jesús Montiel:
Good afternoon!
How can I say an email address? My problem is that I don't know the English name for @. Thank you in advance. Best regards, Manuel Jesús Montiel
Today's...typographical symbol is: @ (at)
We often call this character the "at sign." In accounting it stands for "at the rate of" (for example, 3 pens @ 1€ each = 3€. Spoken --> three pens at the rate of 1 Euro each is 3€). Of course this character is now much more known for its use in Email addresses.
My email address is mray@ziggurat.es. When I give this address to people over the phone, for example, I say "M-R-A-Y at ZIGGURAT dot E-S."
If you have any questions about today's Daily Vitamin, please post them in the Daily Vitamin Plus! forum section on our website, or send us an email to "VITAMIN at ZIGGURAT dot ES" (vitamin@ziggurat.es).
Have a good day and a wonderful weekend.
