ART IDIOMS (LIFE IMITATES ART)

As you probably know, this week we are looking at some interesting expressions that include the word ART in them.

Today's expression is: Life imitates art

Definition: Said when something in real life occurs in the same or a similar way to something that was depicted in a piece of art or fiction. Often used humorously or sarcastically.

Example 1: The disaster played out almost exactly as it did in the famous futuristic novel. It is a chilling instance of life imitating art.

Example 2: Oscar Wilde once said, "life imitates art far more than art imitates life."
