Today's interesting expression is: As mad as a hatter

Meaning: very silly, stupid or crazy. Very eccentric.   

Sentence 1: My sister's husband changes his haircut and clothing style every few months. The last time I saw him I didn't even recognize him. He's as mad as a hatter!   

Sentence 2: When she began to speak to her pet cat and insisting it was giving her financial advice, her friends and family began to worry that she had become as mad as a hatter.
