It is used in several different ways. The following 3 meanings are the most common.

Meaning 1: A written document that shows how much money you owe someone for services or products that have been received; invoice.

Meaning 2: Paper money; also known as a note.

Meaning 3: A written document that proposes a new law.

The following examples correspond to meanings 1, 2 and 3, respectively.

Example 1:
