Meaning: to be brave in a challenging situation; to force yourself to do something difficult or unpleasant.
Sentence 1: My sister does not like to go to the dentist, but she knows that she needs to go, so she has decided to bite the bullet.
Sentence 2: I don't want to write my paper for the history class, but I need to get it done. So, I have decided to stay home tonight and get it done. I've decided to bite the bullet tonight.
