BRUSH UP / WASH UP (PHRASAL VERBS FOR : meaning and examples
Good morning / afternoon / evening everyone. I hope you are having a great day. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin!
Today we continue with another lesson about our daily routines, and the revision of a couple of more common English phrasal verbs that we use to speak about routines.
Today's first phrasal verb for routines is: to brush up
Meaning: to improve your skill or knowledge in something
Example: In January I will be going to England for 6 months to learn English. Therefore, for the last several weeks I have been brushing up on my English every morning before I go to school.
Today's second phrasal verb for routines is: to wash up.
Meaning: to wash your hands, face and sometimes other parts of your body.
Example: I usually wash up immediately after I get up every morning.
Have you incorporated learning into your daily routine? Do you brush up on your English every day? Or maybe you brush up on something else. Do you usually wash up before eating breakfast or after breakfast? For some practice, I encourage you to write your answer(s) to my questions on one of our social media sites (Facebook or Twitter/X) and we will give you feedback about it ASAP.
I hope you have a great day. We'll be back tomorrow with more phrasal verbs for routines.
All the best!
