BUSINESS AS USUAL: meaning and examples
Good morning, Today's expression is: business as usual (Pronunciation: BIZ-nes) It is used: to describe a situation where everything is happening normally or according to routine, especially after a time when things happened differently. Example 1 The first week in December will be shorter than usual because of the long holiday weekend and we won't get much done; but after that it will be back to business as usual. Example 2 A computer virus wiped out (erradicó) all of our files, half of the staff is on strike (en huelga), the managing director just quit and you are acting like it's business as usual! Do you realize what is going on around you? Open your eyes! Example 3 We were very excited during the days when the famous actors came to visit the hospital and we could hardly concentrate on our work, but now everything is business as usual.
