BUSINESS IDIOMS (BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD)
BUSINESS IDIOMS (BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD): meaning and examples
Hello everyone! To those of you who had a long weekend, I hope you enjoyed it. Happy Monday to you all.
This week we are looking at Idioms Used in Business. We begin with the expression BACK TO/AT THE DRAWING BOARD.
Definition: a new plan is needed because the old plan or proposal was unsuccessful.
Example 1: The CEO rejected our proposal so... it's back to the drawing board for us.
Example 2: We didn't get the permit we need for construction. Now we are back at the drawing board.
This is a frustrating situation to be in, but I think we have all experienced this before.
Hopefully today is productive day and you don't have an opportunity to use this expression. ;-)
That concludes our first lesson of the week. Thank you for reading!
We will see you tomorrow for another Daily Vitamin lesson on Business Idioms.
