CHALLENGE: meaning and examples

Good morning!

Today we continue with our series about words related to changing habits.

Today's word is: CHALLENGE (noun, verb), CHALLENGING (adjective)

It means: something that makes a demand of you or presents a difficulty, but one that is stimulating and even motivating.

Example 1:
It was a challenge for me to run that 10 km race. I had to train really hard, but I did it! Now I'm training for a 20 km race. Maybe one day I'll even run a marathon! That would really be challenging!

Example 2:
The grammar exercises were a challenge for Harry but he managed to complete them.
