CHANGE-1
CHANGE-1: meaning and examples
In November of 2004, we did a Daily Vitamin about the noun change, in the context of money. This week we are going to look at some expressions with change as a noun or a verb.
Today's change expression is: to change hands
Meaning: to pass to a different owner.
Example 1:
This flat has changed hands several times in the last few years. Perhaps we should investigate a bit more, to make sure that there isn't something wrong with it that they're not telling us.
Example 2:
This car has never changed hands. The guy who wants to sell it bought it new and has taken very good care of it. I think we should buy it!
