CHANGE-2: meaning and examples

Good morning again.

Today we continue our study of expressions with change as a noun or a verb.

Today's change expression is: to change your ways

Meaning: to start to live or behave in a different way from before.

Example 1:
Danny used to get into a lot of trouble; he took drugs, committed petty crimes and generally didn't really function very comfortably in society. However, now he has completely changed his ways. He's a new man!

There is a similar (more informal) expression that practically means the same thing: to change your tune. It means to express a different opinion or behave differently when your situation changes.

Example 2:
Wait until it happens to you! You'll change your tune.
