CHANGE-8: meaning and examples
Good morning.
Today we complete our series of Daily Vitamins about expressions with the word CHANGE. Remember that you can see all of the Daily Vitamins about change here:
https://www.ziggurat.es/es/lecciones_ingles/index.asp?rs=change
Today's expression is: change horses in midstream
Meaning: to change to a different or new activity while you are in the middle of something else; to change from supporting one person or thing to another.
Example 1:
The marketing plan is half finished. It's too late to completely change the strategy. You can't change horses in midstream!
Example 2:
Jane: I've written a rough draft of my research paper, but the topic doesn't interest me as much as I thought. Maybe I ought to pick a different one.
Jill: Don't change horses in midstream. The paper is due next Monday; there's no time.
Remember that tomorrow we present the Essential Weekly Vitamin for Spanish-speaking students of English.
Have a great day!
