CLIMATE CHANGE VOCABULARY (GREENHOUSE GASES): meaning and examples

Our theme for the week is Climate Change Vocabulary. We are starting with the term GREENHOUSE GASES.

Definition: A gas that contributes to the "greenhouse effect," which is where the Earth's temperatures increase because the atmosphere acts like a greenhouse and traps the sun's heat. 

Example 1: The primary greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone.

Example 2: We decreased our greenhouse gas emissions by 5% last year. 

Example 3: Which country produces the most greenhouse gases?
