CLOTHING EXPRESSIONS-2: meaning and examples
Good morning.
Today we continue our look at English expressions that use clothing in them. Today we will look at a couple of informal expressions that use the word shirt (camisa)
Today's first expression is: to keep your shirt on (informal)
Meaning: used to tell someone not to get angry.
Example 1:
Keep your shirt on! It was only a joke! Calm down.
Today's second expression is: to put your shirt on somebody/something (informal)
Meaning: to bet (apostar) all your money on somebody or something because you are sure you will win.
Example 2:
I put my shirt on the last race and lost everying!
