COLOUR EXPRESSIONS (BLACK)-2: meaning and examples
Today we complete our second series of Daily Vitamins about expressions with the colours red, blue, green and black. Today we look at an expression with black.
Today's expression is: black market
Meaning: an illegal form of trade in which foreign money, or goods that are difficult to obtain, are bought and sold.
Example 1:
In the Third World it's very common to see people selling name-brand goods on the street; it's a sort of black market.
Example 2:
When you travel to foreign countries you can go to the bank to change your money. But if you change money on the black market, you get a better exchange rate.
