COME BACK (2): meaning and examples
Good morning.
Today we continue expanding on our answer to Maria Rosa Jordán's question about the difference between go back and come back (return). Basically, we saw that with go back the direction of the returning is away from the speaker and with come back the direction of the returning is towards the speaker.
For the next couple of days, we will look at different uses or meanings of these two phrasal verbs.
Today's expression is: to come back
Meaning 1 of come back: to become popular or successful again.

Example 1:
Long hair for men seems to be coming back.
Meaning 2 of come back: to return to somebody's memory.
Example 2:
I have been suffering from amnesia, but it's all coming back to me now. I remember the whole accident and everything that happened!
Example 3:
Once you are back in London for a few days, your English will come back to you.
Meaning 3 of come back: to reply to somebody forcefully or angrily.
Example 4:
She came back at the boss in a very rude way. I won't be surprised if she is fired.
