COOKING VOCABULARY: TO STEW

Welcome back, everyone! And happy Monday to you all. 

Are you feeling hungry this morning? Well, here's a warning; this week's theme is Cooking Vocabulary, so you might be hungry after reading our lessons!

Each day we will look at an expression related to cooking or food. Today we are looking at the expression TO STEW. 

A STEW is a type of food (usually meat or fish with vegetables) that is cooked slowly in a small amount of liquid. But it can also be a colloquial verb. 

Definition: To be angry or worried. 

Example 1: He's been stewing about yesterday's game for the last 24 hours. 

Example 2: You need to stop stewing over the grade you got on your test and start studying for the next one. 

Example 3: I'll be stewing from this terrible meeting for the next week.
