Each day we will look at an expression related to cooking or food. Today we are looking at the expression TO STEW.
A STEW is a type of food (usually meat or fish with vegetables) that is cooked slowly in a small amount of liquid. But it can also be a colloquial verb.
Definition: To be angry or worried.
Example 1: He's been stewing about yesterday's game for the last 24 hours.
Example 2: You need to stop stewing over the grade you got on your test and start studying for the next one.
Example 3: I'll be stewing from this terrible meeting for the next week.
