COURSE-1
COURSE-1: meaning and examples
This week there will only be three Daily Vitamins, plus the Friday Essential Weekly Vitamin, because tomorrow, Tuesday, is a bank holiday in Barcelona.
This week we will look at expressions with the word COURSE. Most of us know the word course to mean "a series of lessons or lectures on a particular subject", but we actually use it more in other contexts.
Today's expression is: on course for something / on course to do something
Meaning: likely to achieve or do something because you have already started to do it.
Example 1:
The US economy is on course to recovery. However, some predict that another economic crisis could begin in China very soon.
Example 2:
If he keeps working this hard, Jack is on course for being the new CEO of the company.
Have a great day and I'll see you on Tuesday.
