COVID VOCABULARY: WORK FROM HOME (WFH): meaning and examples
Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin, everyone! I hope all of you had a great summer and I hope you’re ready for a fun year of Daily Vitamin English lessons. We have some great vocabulary words, grammar lessons, and idioms to learn.
For the last few years, we have had a theme for each week. This year, we will continue with this model. This week, our theme is COVID Vocabulary. The English language has added some interesting words since the pandemic began. We will learn five of these expressions or slang words this week.
We begin with the phrase work from home (WFH).
Definition: this is the acronym for the expression "work from home," which refers to people who do not go to an office for their work.
Example 1: Is your office still WFH?
Example 2: It's hard to WFH and also have children.
Note that we often use this in written communication, but not in spoken English.
