DISAGREEMENT PHRASES: I'M NOT SO SURE: meaning and examples

Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin everyone. I hope you had an excellent weekend!

Earlier in the month, we looked at different phrases that we use to express agreement. This week we are going to look at different phrases and expressions used to disagree with other people

So, of course, you can always say I don't agree. But we want to give you some more "creative" options. :-)

Following are three phrases that you can use to more politely disagree with people.

I'm not so sure about that.
I'm afraid I can't agree with you.
I see your point, but I have to disagree.

Example 1: When he suggested the new plan to improve sales, I looked at him skeptically and said, 'I'm not so sure about that.'

Example 2: In our departmental meeting, a proposal was made and I diplomatically said, 'I'm afraid I can't agree with you.'

Example 3: After listening to her perspective, I nodded and replied, 'I see your point, but I have to disagree.'

Hopefully, you can use some of these phrases in your daily English interactions sometime in the near future. For the moment, I encourage you to create your own sentence(s) with one or more of these expressions on one of our social media sites (Facebook or Twitter/X) and we will give you feedback as soon as possible.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
