EXPERIENCE-FIT: VOCAB FOR JOB INTERVIEW
EXPERIENCE-FIT: VOCAB FOR JOB INTERVIE: meaning and examples
Hello everyone and happy Wednesday to you. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope your day is going well.
Today we look at two more words that are typically used in job interviews. We hope that being familiar with this vocabulary will help in any future job interviews that you may have in English.
In job interviews, it's very common to speak about experience and whether you are a fit for the position that you are applying for.
Meaning experience: in a job interview, this refers to the practical knowledge or skills you have gained from past jobs.
Example 1: I have five years of experience in digital marketing, but before that I worked for ten years in a "traditional" marketing position.
Meaning fit: this refers to how well a candidate matches a job or organizational culture.
Example 2: Alicia, you are more than qualified for the job; and I also think you would be a great fit for our team because of your background in finance.
Example 3: Janet has lots of experience and I think she would be a perfect fit for the position of Human Resources Director. She is also a very kind person. I think we should hire her!
