Today's meaning is: responsibility; something that concerns a particular person or organization.

Example 1:
It is the business of the police to protect the citizens of a country.

Example 2:
My private life does not concern you. It's none of your business!

Example 3:
I will make it my business to find out who is responsible for this disaster.
