Definition: To put yourself in the position of another person to understand their thoughts, challenges, experiences, and perspectives. 

Example 1: My dad always advised me to walk a mile in someone's shoes before judging them. 

Example 2: I know that you're annoyed that your friend is always late, but walk a mile in her shoes: she works, has two kids, and is taking classes in the evening. She's very busy.
