EXPRESSIONS WITH END (4): meaning and examples

Good morning!

Today we end our series of END expressions, although there are many more! In past Daily Vitamins we have also explained the expressions IN THE END vs. AT THE END OF, so I recommend reading those past posts too.

IN THE END

AT THE END OF

Today's expression is: HIGH END

Meaning 1: an expensive, exclusive or luxury item, product or service. This expression is used more in conversation or informally.

Example 1:
That company sells high end accessories for women, like designer handbags, scarves and jewellery.

Meaning 2
: to be at the maximum value on a scale.

Example 2:
His results on the university entrance level test were on the high end so he was offered a place at the best universities in the country.

Remember that tomorrow we present the Essential Weekly Vitamin for Spanish-speaking students of English; and then, of course, it will be the weekEND!

Have a wonderful day!
