EXPRESSIONS WITH PANTS: SCARE THE PANTS OFF OF SOMEONEâ 

Welcome back, everyone!

If you read yesterday's post, then you know that this week's theme is Expressions with the word PANTS.

Today we are looking at the expression: TO SCARE THE PANTS OFF OF SOMEONE.

Definition: To scare someone very badly. 

Example 1: I didn't see you there! You scared the pants off of me!

Example 2: I came around the corner and startled my cat. And then my cat startled me! We nearly scared the pants off of each other. 

Example 3: You scared the pants off of me when you didn't answer your phone. I thought something terrible had happened to you.
