EXPRESSIONS WITH SPRING (TO SPRING SOMEONE): meaning and examples
Happy Thursday, everyone! I hope you're having a nice week and enjoying our Expressions with Spring.
Today's Spring expression is: TO SPRING (SOMEONE).
Definition: To get someone out of jail.
NOTE: This is a colloquial expression that we don't use a lot, but you might hear it in films.
Example 1: My brother came down and sprung me; otherwise, I’d still be in jail.
Example 2: He asked the lawyer to spring him before his sentence was finished, based on his good behaviour.
Hopefully you never have to use this expression to talk about yourself. ;-)
