EXPRESSIONS WITH START (3): meaning and examples
Today we will look at our last expression with START.
Today's expression is: A SLOW / FAST START
Meaning: if something begins in a slow way or takes more time; or if something begins quickly and takes less time.
Example 1:
I always have a slow start to my day. It takes me a long time to wake up in the morning. I need to have at least 3 cups of coffee before I can do any work!
Example 2:
Our competitors are showing a fast start to the season with their new advertising campaign. However, I think that we can catch up* to them if we redesign our marketing and publicity strategy.
