EXPRESSIONS WITH YEAR-1
EXPRESSIONS WITH YEAR-1: meaning and examples
Good morning.
Since we have just begun a new year, I thought it would be appropriate to look at some common English expressions that use the word year.
Today's expression is: year after year
Meaning: every year for many years; repeatedly for many years.
Example 1:
The band grew tired of performing the same type of music year after year, so they decided to split up.
Sometime we repeat the expression to add more emphasis of a lot of time passing.
Example 2:
Jack hates his job, but he continues working in the company year after year after year after year. I think he should look for a new job.
We can also use other time expressions (day after day, week after week, month after month).

Enjoy the rest of your day.
