FABRIC vs. FACTORY
FABRIC vs. FACTORY: meaning and examples
Good morning. I hope you had a nice weekend.
Today's word is: Fabric
Meaning: material made by weaving (tejiendo) wool (lana), cotton (algodón), silk (seda), etc. used for making clothes, curtains and for covering furniture.
Example 1:
John: What kind of fabric is your new sofa made out of?
Jack: It's made out of wool.
Example 2:
He bought two new shirts made from knitted fabric.
Notice that fabric is NOT translated into Spanish as fábrica. Fábrica is factory in English.
Example 3:
The multinational company is going to close the factory next year, so hundreds of workers will lose their jobs.
