FAIR-TAN (PHYSICAL APPEARANCE)
FAIR-TAN (PHYSICAL APPEARANCE): meaning and examples
Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you are having a good day, and I hope you have had a good week. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin.
Today we present two final adjectives that we can use to describe someone's physical appearance. Yesterday we focused on the hair, and today we focus on the skin.
Today's first word is: fair
Meaning: Used to describe someone who has light skin.
Example 1: Janet has very fair skin, so she burns easily under the sun.
Today's second word is: tan
Meaning: Used to describe someone who has a brown skin tone from sun exposure.
Example 2: When I was younger, I always had a natural tan from spending so much time working outdoors. Luckily, I'm not fair-skinned, so I don't burn easily.
Once again, I encourage you to write a sentence or two with these words and post your sentences on one of our social media sites (Facebook or Twitter/X); we will give you feedback about your sentences ASAP.
I hope the rest of your day goes well, and I hope you have an excellent weekend!
We'll be back on Monday with more lessons.
