We are ending our Fool Expressions theme with the saying (YOU) COULD HAVE FOOLED ME.
Definition: An expression meaning that you do not believe what someone is telling you because it's so surprising.
Example 1: You're 6 months pregnant? You could have fooled me! You don't look any different than you did last year!
Example 2: He's only been playing the guitar for three months? Could have fooled me.
Example 3: This was a frozen pizza? Could have fooled me. It tastes delicious!
