FRIEND OR FOE: meaning and examples

Good morning!

Today we have another expression with 'OR'.

Today's expression is: friend or foe (formal or literary)

It means: a friend or an enemy.

Example 1:
Debbie: There is a new reality show on channel 6 called 'Friend or Foe' in which two teams have to decide if a stranger is a friend or an enemy. It looks interesting.
Marnie: Not to me. All those reality shows are the same...boring!

Example 2
:
Guard: (Hears knocks on castle door) Who goes there?
Knight: It is Sir Lancelittle!
Guard: Friend or foe?
Knight: Friend! I am an emissary of Queen Gwendolyn!

I hope your day is full of friends, not foes!
