Today's sentences include the verb TO REMEMBER.

Can you explain the difference in meaning of these sentences?

Sentence 1: I never remember locking the door. 

Sentence 2: I never remember to lock the door. 

One of these sentences means that the person locks the door but forgets that he or she has locked it. Once you've identified which sentence means that the person locks the door but forgets that he or she has locked it, tell us what the other sentence means.
