Today's phrase is: GOLD DIGGER
Meaning: a person who forms a relationship with another person with the objective to extract money from them.
Example 1: Before their wedding, Mary asked Jim to sign a prenuptial agreement, because many of Mary's friends believed that Jim was a gold digger. However, they've been happily married for more than 20 years and together they have built up a lot of wealth over the years.
