Today's expression is: half-hearted

Meaning: done without enthusiasm or effort.

Example 1:
She only made a half-hearted attempt to convince him to change his mind.

Example 2:
The workers made a half-hearted protest, but in reality they didn't agree with the union's position and only went on strike due to pressure.
