Today we continue our look at some common metaphors that we use in everyday language.
Today's 1st metaphor is: Heart of Stone
Meaning / Use: We use this metaphor to refer to someone who is emotionally cold or unfeeling.
Example 1: He has a heart of stone; he never shows an ounce of compassion.
Example 2: The manager, with a heart of stone, fired the entire team without hesitation.
Today's 2nd metaphor is: A blanket of snow
Meaning / Use: This metaphor describes a thick layer of snow covering the ground, evoking the image of a soft, comforting blanket.
Example 3: The city looked peaceful under a thick blanket of snow.
Example 4: Last night, a blanket of snow fell silently over the mountains.
