HELP EXPRESSIONS-1: meaning and examples

Good morning once again. I hope you had a nice long weekend, for those of you that had Monday off.

In September of 2005, we did a short series of Daily Vitamins about requesting help. This week we are going to look at a few expressions that use the word help in them.

Today's help expression is
: to offer, give or lend a helping hand

Meaning
: to help someone.

Example 1
:
Thank God that my brother gave us a helping hand with the move or we would have never been able to do it in just one day.

Example 2
:
If you need me to lend you a helping hand with dinner, just let me know.

If you have doubts about today's Daily Vitamin you can post questions or comments in the Daily Vitamin section on our website. It's simple: you only need to click on the "add a comment" button that appears after today's lesson. Remember that you can also listen to today's lesson.

Have a great day!
