HOLIDAY COLLOCATION: _____ THE LIGHTS: meaning and examples

Happy Wednesday to all of you and welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope that you are enjoying your week.

As you know, for December we are looking at holiday-related vocabulary. On December 1st, we looked at the verb TO TRIM, as in to trim the Christmas tree (= decorate). Today, we have another collocation. Do you know how to complete this sentence?

Sentence 1: I helped my Dad __________ the Christmas lights.

There is more than one verb that we can use to complete this sentence. Here are some options.

Example 1: I helped my Dad HANG the Christmas lights.

Example 2 I helped my Dad HANG UP the Christmas lights.

Example 3
I helped my Dad PUT UP the Christmas lights.

Can you think of any others? Please post your options on our Facebook page and we will tell you if they are correct.

We'll see you back tomorrow for a lesson on the phrasal verb TO WRAP UP.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
