HOW OLD ARE YOU? (2)
HOW OLD ARE YOU? (2): meaning and examples
Good morning. Yesterday we reviewed how to answer the question: How old are you? Imagine that somebody asks you this question, and tomorrow is your birthday. What would you say? You might say something like Speaker 2 in Example 1: Example 1: Speaker 1: How old are you? Speaker 2: I am thirty years old, but tomorrow is my birthday and I will turn thirty one. In English we use the verb TURN to express the "arrival" to a new age (cumplir in Spanish). Example 2: Can you guess how old I am? I'll give you a hint (pista). I turned 10 in 1976. Example 3: My son turned 5 on March 31st, but we had a birthday party for him on April 3rd. If you have any questions about today's Daily Vitamin, please don't hesitate to contact me.
