I SUGGEST WE... (MAKING SUGGESTIONS): meaning and examples

Today I want talk about two polite, but direct, phrases for making suggestions.
Today's phrases are: "I suggest we…" and "It might be a good idea to…".
Meaning / Use "I suggest we…": This phrase is formal and direct. It’s great for meetings or serious discussions.
Example 1: I suggest we postpone the event until next month.
Example 2: I suggest we review the document again.
Meaning / Use "It might be a good idea to…": This phrase is softer and implies that the listener has a choice.
Example 3: It might be a good idea to check the weather before we plan the picnic in the park.
Example 4: It might be a good idea to book the tickets in advance.
