IDIOMS WITH ICE (BE ON THIN ICE): meaning and examples

This week we are looking at Idioms with the word ICE in them. 

Today's idiom is: To be on thin ice / to be skating on thin ice / to be walking on thin ice

Definition: If you say that someone is on thin ice, is skating or walking on thin ice, you mean that they are doing something risky which may have serious or unpleasant consequences.

Example 1: She had been skating on thin ice for a long time; so I'm not surprised that she was fired from her job.

Example 2: Listen, son... you're already on thin ice, so I would suggest you stop lying to me.
