IDIOMS WITH 'LETTER': OPEN LETTER

Welcome back, everyone! By now, you probably know that this week's theme is Idioms with the word "letter" in them.

We are finishing this week with the expression OPEN LETTER. 

Definition: A letter (typically a critical letter) addressed to a person or group and meant to be published. 

Example 1: In their open letter to the local government, the school's teachers criticised how they handled school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Example 2: For years, the road to our city was old and worn. It took an open letter from a young girl to finally get the local city council to repair the road.
