Today we are learning the phrase: TO FALL SHORT

Definition: To fail to reach an amount or standard that was expected or hoped for, causing disappointment.

Example 1: We fell short of our sales goal for last year. 

Example 2: Sometimes we fall short of the expectations that others have for us.

Example 3: They fell short of the votes they needed to win the Presidency.
