Today's lesson is on the expression: TO SWEET-TALK SOMEONE

Definition: To speak to someone in a very nice way, with the intention of getting something from them or changing their mind. 

Example 1: You can try to sweet-talk me, but we aren't going skiing this weekend. I'm sorry; I have to work. 

Example 2: Don't try to sweet-talk your mother like that. We already told you we aren't getting you a car for your birthday. 

We often say you SWEET-TALK someone INTO something.

Example 3: She's trying to sweet-talk me into getting her a puppy.
